Piping Designer

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D piping models in PDMS / AVEVA E3D / SmartPlant 3D
• Produce piping isometric and general arrangement drawings
• Prepare Material Take-Off (MTO) for piping components
• Check and coordinate own and junior-level isometrics/GA drawings prior to issue
• Resolve clashes and coordinate routing with other disciplines
• Mentor junior piping designers as needed
• Maintain drawing registers and revision control

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years producing piping deliverables inside an engineering design office
• Personally drafted at least three of: 3D piping model development; piping general arrangements; isometric generation and checking; nozzle orientation drawings; support location drawings; MTO extraction
• Works from discipline engineer mark-ups and produces IFC-quality drawings
• AVEVA E3D or PDMS, AutoCAD Plant 3D or CADWorx, plus AutoCAD and Navisworks
• Design experience is current - drawings produced within the last 3 years
• Not qualifying for this role: as-built and red-line drafting only, or fabrication shop draughting with no design office content.

Education

B.Sc. / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Design, or equivalent
