Mechanical Designer

Responsibilities

• Develop Mechanical 2D/3D models, drawings and layout deliverables using AutoCAD; PV Elite (reference); Microsoft Office
• Prepare Material Take-Off (MTO) and quantity deliverables for Mechanical scope
• Check and coordinate own and junior-level drawings prior to issue
• Coordinate routing / layout with other disciplines and resolve model clashes
• Implement Engineer's technical comments and calculation results into drawings / models
• Mentor junior Designers as needed
• Participate in model / design reviews
• Maintain drawing registers and revision control

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years producing mechanical deliverables inside an engineering design office
• Personally drafted at least three of: equipment general arrangement and detail drawings; nozzle orientation drawings; static equipment fabrication drawings; equipment layout and maintenance access drawings
• Works from discipline engineer mark-ups and produces IFC-quality drawings
• AutoCAD, and ideally Inventor, SolidWorks or a plant 3D tool
• Design experience is current - drawings produced within the last 3 years
• Not qualifying for this role: as-built and red-line drafting only, or fabrication shop draughting with no design office content.

B.Sc. / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or equivalent
