Senior Civil / Structural Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate civil and structural engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle
• Develop, review, and approve civil and structural deliverables, including calculations, drawings, specifications, and design reports
• Perform and review structural design calculations for foundations, steel structures, reinforced concrete structures, platforms, pipe racks, and equipment supports
• Ensure designs comply with applicable international and local codes, standards, and client specifications
• Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, and Instrumentation disciplines to resolve technical and interface issues
• Review construction drawings, contractor submissions, method statements, and material submissions
• Provide technical support during procurement, fabrication, construction, installation, inspection, and commissioning
• Participate in site inspections and provide technical solutions to construction-related civil and structural issues
• Review and resolve design changes, technical queries, site instructions, and requests for information (RFIs)
• Lead or participate in design reviews, constructability reviews, and HAZID/HAZOP meetings
• Identify technical risks and design changes affecting project cost, schedule, quality, and constructability
• Provide technical guidance, supervision, and mentoring to junior and intermediate civil/structural engineers and designers
• Support the preparation and improvement of engineering procedures, design practices, and standard details

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in civil and structural engineering, preferably within Oil & Gas, petrochemical, refinery, or industrial sectors
• Personally authored or checked at least six of: civil and structural design basis; design load schedules; steel structure and connection design; pipe rack design; foundation design with anchor bolt layouts; concrete design and rebar detailing; structural steel GA and fabrication drawings
• Able to check and approve the deliverables of engineers at EN grade
• Has taken a civil and structural scope through at least one full FEED or detailed design cycle to IFC
• Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards: AISC, ACI 318, Eurocode, BS 8110
• Experience with seismic and wind load assessment, equipment loads, and lifting loads
• Experience reviewing construction contractor documentation and providing technical responses to site queries and RFIs

Education

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline from a recognized university
